My name is Connor Gillivan. I’m the CMO and an Owner of AccountsBalance.

Connor: What made you decide to get involved in the SaaS industry? What’s your starting online business story? From what we’ve found, a lot of business owners in the online sales space have fun stories of how they first started…

 

Sean: Guess how FlowChat was born? It was the beautiful child of a screaming market need, mixed with a dollop of our own problem-solving hunger. The proud parents? A trio of innovators: Chris Baden (our dashing CEO), Bruno Domingues (the tech wizard CTO), and yours truly, Sean Malone (the strategy whiz CSO).

 

The story starts with Chris and I diving headfirst into the choppy waters of the digital marketing universe back in 2016. Cut from the same cloth, we’re both old-school sales pros who learned the ropes in commission-only sales – yep, the “sell or starve” kind. An enlightening marketing system floated our way, and it shone a light on the astonishing growth potential of online business tactics. We rode that wave all the way to a thriving 7-figure business.

 

But wait, there’s more… Our clients’ needs nudged us into the software scene, and voila, our first software product was born. It skyrocketed to 7 figures in just 10 months, catapulting us into an 8-figure empire which we later happily exited.

 

You might ask, “What did you do next, Sean?” Well, we turned to our wise gurus and coaches, Russell Brunson and Alex Charfen, and they threw a simple question back at us, “What are you good at?” Our answer? “Sales.” They noted how so many online entrepreneurs grapple with sales. And so, we set out on a mission and built a high-ticket sales agency that equipped business owners with their very own sales teams. Problem solved? 

 

Kinda.

 

Because, you know what happened next? Our clients returned, saying, “Chris, Sean, you’ve built me a killer sales ecosystem, but now I’m pulling my hair out figuring out how to keep this machine fed.” Luckily for them (and us), we had a prospecting system up our sleeve. The lightbulb moment? That system was the golden ticket to explosive growth.

 

From this eureka moment, we launched a high-ticket mastermind, teaching this system using, believe it or not, humble spreadsheets and Google docs. Fate, being the crafty matchmaker it is, led our outreach system right into Bruno’s brilliant tech. A conversation sparked, and we realized that he was sitting on the tech goldmine we were already selling. Like peas and carrots, right?

 

With the tech acquired and merged, our brainchild, FlowChat, was welcomed into the world. 

 

Fast forward the first 20 months, and it made us millions in revenue and is radically transforming how our clients direct message.

 

So that’s our journey, and we’re just getting started as we enter year 3.

Connor: Love it! Talking more about the online business industry, where do you see it going in the next 1-2 years? Any unique predictions that you could share?

Over the next 1-2 years, we predict that the SaaS space will not just grow, but evolve, innovate, and totally redefine the way we interact with software. Why? Not just for the big guns but for SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) too. We’re all playing in the digital playground, right? Why not use the most high-tech toys? 

 

We’re betting our bottom dollar that personalization will become the heart and soul of the SaaS universe. We’re talking about software that knows your business like it’s been on your payroll for years. It’s the era of smart, intuitive software that anticipates your needs and makes your morning coffee (okay, maybe not the coffee part, but you get the gist).
