Hey, thanks for tuning in to another Partner Interview at AccountsBalance.

My name is Connor Gillivan. I’m the CMO and an Owner of AccountsBalance.

We’re on a mission to help 1,000+ businesses better understand their numbers, and industry partnerships is a big way that we’re able to make it happen.

We’re all about creating win-win partnerships where we are able to grow with other companies in the agency, SAAS, and online space.

In this exclusive interview, we interview Travis Chappell from Travis Chappell.

He is a door to door salesman turned founder, investor, speaker, and podcaster. He is the founder and CEO of Guestio.com, the highest quality guest and show booking marketplace in the industry. He’s also the co-host off the top ranked podcasts Build Your Network and Figuring It Out where he’s interviewed people like Shaquille O’Neal, Rob Dyrdek, Grant Cardone, Josh Peck, Molly Bloom, Jasmine Star, John Maxwell, and hundreds of others.

In addition to being a guest on top podcasts like Bigger Pockets, EOFire, and Born to Impact, Travis has been featured in Forbes, Entrepreneur, TechCrunch, Bloomberg, and dozens of other media outlets. When he’s not working on his dreams, Travis can be found at the golf course, playing pick up basketball, or at his home in Las Vegas with his high school sweetheart and two kids.

We hope that you enjoy the interview and that it brings value to you as an agency business owner.

Connor: Hey Travis, thanks for taking the time to chat with us here. We love getting to know our partners better so that our community can benefit from what our partners are offering and doing in the industry. To get started, can you give us a high level overview of how you got started?

Travis: I graduated from an unaccredited college with a degree in Bible at age 21 which didn’t really get me a lot of job offers, so I did what I knew how to do – door to door sales. After a few years of door to door, I saw the writing on the wall and decided it was time to learn how to make money online. So with no connections or experience, I launched a podcast, and that podcast has brought me on a journey to have conversations with my heroes as well as start several different businesses including software, coaching, and an interview marketing agency.

Connor: That’s awesome! Can you dive a bit more into the interview marketing services that you offer? I’m sure our audience would love to know exactly what problems you could solve for them.

Travis: Yes, we help entrepreneurs, authors, and investors get booked on podcasts to share their story with the world, and we help podcasts book guests on their shows as well.

Connor: Jumping off of that…if there was one problem you’d say that Travis Chappell solves best for your clients, what would it be? Why?

Travis: We solve the connection problem. Most people can’t make high level guest connections happen simply because they don’t have as many years in the space as we do. The connection from a competent source is sometimes all it takes.

Connor: As the company continues to grow over the next year, what are your plans for expansion? Any new products or offerings or enhancements to your current products?

Travis: We are planning to expand on our guest booking services. Most of our clients use us for getting them on shows, but now that we have a strong network of guests, we will ramp up bookings for shows

Connor: And how specifically would you say that  Travis Chappell  and your team is different from other podcasting businesses in the industry?

Travis: I’d say we’re different because I practice what I preach. There are a lot of podcast “gurus” out there who don’t even have a podcast, or only have a podcast about podcasting. We are out there doing everything we are telling everyone else to do. Because of that, we also have better relationships with leaders in the industry than most others do. You can’t buy that level of trust.

Connor: What made you decide to get involved in the interview marketing space? What’s your starting online business story? From what we’ve found, a lot of business owners in the interview marketing space have fun stories of how they first started…

Travis: I was just solving a problem for myself. There were a few people in the market already, but no one was offering the quality I was looking for, so we decided to step into that gap in the market.

Connor: Love it! Talking more about the online business industry, where do you see it going in the next 1-2 years? Any unique predictions that you could share?

Travis: My prediction is that it will look really close to the same as it does now. AI is disrupting quite a bit, but I think it’ll take a while to really have widespread adoption.

Connor: Giving you an open mic for a minute, what is something you’d want the AccountsBalance audience to hear?

Travis: Start doing more interviews, no matter which side of the mic you’re on. They’ll help you in a multitude of ways.

Connor: Changing gears a little bit…When it comes to bookkeeping and accounting, what do you think the biggest pain points for business owners are? Feel free to speak from personal experience as well.

Travis: Probably that most owners don’t even want to think about it, and have little no experience understanding it.

Connor: As we close this out, I just have one more question. Where is the best place to find and follow you and the company online? Also, if you have one, is there any special offer that you’ll be offering to the community today?

Travis: Best place would just be travischappell.com or my podcast Travis Makes Friends. We drop two new episodes a week over there.
